Legend is mixed with historical fact in this beautiful
Andalucian town, in which several civilizations have left their
architectural and cultural imprint. The Arabic and medieval influences,

atmosphere in which to shelter from the inexorable passing of time. Alhama hangs on the edge of a rocky gorge, cut through by the river of the same name. This is one of the many waterways of this territory, and it shares its name and its history with the town. Its white houses hang on the edge of the cliffs, hiding the old dungeons, still preserved in the innards of the solid limestone, together with several grain stores, and buildings which contained watermills. |
